The Fruit Belt — officially the Willert Park neighborhood — is a historically significant east Buffalo neighborhood located just east of downtown, directly adjacent to the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. Named for the fruit-named streets that cross the neighborhood (Grape, Cherry, Peach, Lemon, Mulberry, and others), the Fruit Belt is one of Buffalo's oldest Black residential communities and is undergoing significant change as the Medical Campus expands.
